The Caribbean Cinemas theatre in Ponce was a response to the request to marry the look and feel of the Plaza del Mercado with the passionate colors and history of the community's famous firehouse. These characteristics were realized through a process that included some beautiful hand sketches, renderings, and prototyping of custom materials and lighting. Much of the abeyance was created by balancing dramatic, glowing ceiling inlays with the polished black galaxy marble floor. Then the long hall of auditorium entries was a broken by a rhythm of gloss red portals, poster cases, and halo illuminated faux tin ceiling coves. The design received a warm reception and has been "on fire" since.
